For those who follow such things, I've acquired Ed McGivern's death certificate for us holstorians. He was significant to holstory because his records were generally achieved from the holster vs off-hand, because he was a trick shooter. A painter by trade, somehow all his lead exposure (in his paint, in his bullets, in his gunsmoke, in his State) was not a direct cause of his death; though joint pain that then was interpreted as arthritis IS a symptom of lead poisoning.

His well-known book, created after he retired from shooting demonstrations, tell us that it was mid-1936 that he was diagnosed, and retired. Those of us who frequent Ancestry.com will not find his death certificate there; I got the above copy directly from the county.

And he was a 'smoker'; that is, he and his wife breathed a lot of lead smoke from his guns:
