Son Ewald Heiser was killed in a car crash in '49, and the company was sold to The Denver Dry Goods that was a huge retailer in that city where Heiser had been located since the late 19th century. No sums were reported in the articles so perhaps the exchange was for shares in DDG with it already having its own saddlery called Powder River for which Heiser had been making gunleather.
